Egypt Past And Present

i have been married for 6 years to an Egyptian (from Cario), & I have been to Egypt. Yes it is true that if you are a tourist some will try to take advantage of you if you don’t know arabic your the normal cost of things there. In Egypt not every one has money, so they do what they need to do to live. But this happens EVERYWHERE in the world.
BUT everywhere I went everyone was very nice and caring. Egypt is a beautiful place and there is so much to see. Egypt is a place that everyone should go to at least once in life, it is amazing.
It is really sad to see that people here say such rude things about people from other countries, which leads me to believe that these people don’t know what they are talking about. I am around Egyptians (husbands family) here in Wash. DC everyday and they are more of a family to me then my own. I am sorry for those of you that gerenalize your have just had one bad experenice and believe all egyptians are this way. but we all know that if you think about it EVERY culture/race have people that are as you all have said – liars, fakes, disgusting, ect. I hope you all open your minds and think before speaking of others you do not know. — The Wife of an Egyptian.

  1. I can agree to most what you said, but you need to know the cause of those things; first: the media and teachings, which is imported as is from the west, which is something that we don’t want… there is religion and cultures that need to be respected unless you want to make it a one universal culture, like what Allah says

second, which is citizen’s behaviors… which is affected by what they see and hear, so to fix those problems we need people to dump the west media, and replace it with our Islamic media.

the second thing that was the reason i decided to comment here, is about Pharos… most people when they decide to visit Egypt they visit the pyramids and tempels while we as Egyptians shouldn’t be proud of those pharos and we shouldn’t even respect them… we should not be proud of people disobeying Allah and feel hey! this is our culture… despite of what the government is promoting everywhere. what we should think of when we see the pharos (specially Ramses II – which is mentioned in Quran) is to think of life and that it doesn’t stop for someone… the good dies and the bad dies and we will be asked our life what we did and make us take a step forward and obey Allah more.

i hope if you could find people giving you copies of Quran for free instead of telling you visit, visit, pay, pay! i wish also you could find someone helping you to learn about our prophet rather than treating you as a consumer.
